Gina Covelli, RN, BSM, CHPCA CEO, Cypress Hospice

Gina started her hospice career in 1999 after her family experienced the complexity that surrounded her mother’s cancer diagnosis. Following her mother’s death, Gina took her profession as a nurse and combined it with a new passion for loving and compassionate hospice care. She had a determination and desire to serve patients and families in an environment different than the acute hospital setting, and fifteen years later, has had experience in a number of hospice settings, including multi-state hospice operations.

After experiencing the loss of her husband and father, Gina decided to start a new beginning and relocate from Mentor to Berea, Ohio and pursue a new career path with Cypress Hospice. With a nursing degree from Lakeland College, a degree in Business Management and certifications in Hospice and Palliative Care (both nursing and administrative) Gina brings with her the experience, education and compassion to give patients and their families a different kind of hospice care.

Gina says that what she loves best about working for Cypress Hospice is, “the pride in knowing that the mission and the principles the Coury Family exhibit every day is demonstrated in the people they employ and in their business operations. Patient focus and quality care is always the forefront of every decision that is made.”

When she’s not working, Gina enjoys spending as much time as she can with her two children, Doug and Katie, exploring new dining experiences, listening to music, shopping and vacationing.
